t Our mission
The mission of North Laurel Elementary School is to provide an intellectually
stimulating, positive environment that promotes success for students of all backgrounds.
As the School That Cares, we believe that it is the right of every
individual to be treated with dignity and respect at all times. With each
student, we seek to help parents build in their children the foundations
for a lifetime love for learning and a spirit of community involvement.
t Our curriculum
In addition to providing a strong core curriculum, North Laurel is committed to providing all children with an educational experience that values the arts and special programs. With our vibrant music, art, library, physical education and computer education classes (including computer assisted instruction through SuccessMakers), our students receive a rich and diverse standards-based education.
t Counseling services
Our experienced school counselor provides individual, small-group, classroom, and grade level counseling services to best meet the varied needs of our students and families.
t Involving parents
It is our goal to maintain a vibrant collaborative network which includes
the home, school, and community. In addition to our Parents Teachers Association, parents also contribute to the North Laurel Elementary School Executive Council which meets monthly to discuss important issues involving the school. The group is composed of administrators, staff, teachers, and parents.
t Additional features
Teachers also use the Interactive Whiteboard and Turning Points software to enhance instruction. Our multiple in-service days are designed to assist our
teachers in their continuing professional development.
